A woman on Metro North Railroad who saw Daniel wearing one of his brooches wrote:
Your pieces are happy. Anyone who looks at them must get a smile on their face. They are like music for the eyes.
The intricacies are fascinating. Your work needs to be looked at from all directions and angles to totally appreciate it and how it comes together.
Once I learned what your jewelry is composed of makes it even more amazing. How can such a happy, whimsical, fun piece be made from trash that usually disgusts people and is ignored by most?
I sure won’t ever look at trash the way I did before I met you. Now, I notice it. I see the waste and I think of what we are doing to our planet and I think of the beauty of your work.
It’s mind boggling to me to see the emotion and the heartfelt reasons why you create what you do.
It makes me want to question ourselves about what we are doing to help this earth. How many artists can bring out so much deep thought as to one’s own role in helping keep the earth alive?
